Covid-19 (Corona Virus disease 2019) is a disease due to which the entire world is facing very critical condition. It belongs to a family of viruses whose infection can cause problems ranging from a cold to breathlessness. This virus has never been seen before. The virus infection started in December in Wuhan, China. According to WHO, fever, cough, shortness of breath are its symptoms. So far no vaccine has been made to stop the virus from spreading.
In order to prevent the people and to deal with such epidemic condition the Government of India has taken some health related steps for Covid -19 containment which are listed below.

Health related steps taken by Indian Government due to Corona Virus :
1.PROTECTION TO HEALTH WORKERS :
A) Amendment in Epidemic Disease Act:
In this fight against Corona virus, the biggest contribution is given by health workers. Instead of this they had harassed by some people. So in order to provide them protection, the Pandemic Act 1897 is amended on 11th March, 2020. According to that -
- If a person commits any kind of violence against health workers, he will have to pay imprisonment up to 7 years and a heavy fine. The offense has also been made a non-bailable offense.
- Culprit will be sentenced from 3 months to 5 years and will have to give a fine from 50000 to 2 lakh rupees.
B) Adequate Provision for PPEs :
PPEs stands for Personal Protective Equipment. We know that Corona Virus can be spread if we came in contact with corona infected person. So during the treatment of corona patients doctor has to wear PPE which protect them to get infected. This PPEs includes apron, gowns, head covering, and shoe covers.
- Now the India has more than 300 domestic manufacturers.
- The government provided 51 lakh PPEs kit to hospitals. In addition to that they also provided 87 lakh N95 masks and 11.08 crore HCQs (hydroxychloroquine) tablets which are used to treat symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and discoid.
2. TO LEVERAGING IT :
A) e-Sanjeevani Tele-Consultation Services :
Due to corona virus there is a hesitation in people to visit the hospitals which is actually risky. So MP government has started telemedicine facilities in 51 districts for medical advice and consultation to home quarantine people through telemedicine. This is done with the help of vish foundation. Health services will be available to the people at home through medical counseling and treatment.
These health service will need a tablet, laptop or desktop with web camera, speakers, mic and internet connection. The OPD time of e-sanjeevani will be from 9 am to 1 pm. You just need to register on the link www.esanjeevaniopd.in
In such epidemic condition of country we need a well trained forces of newcomers so that the team of workers which is already engaged in fight against Covid-19 get some time to take a proper rest. So the Government of India launched a training module "IGOT" for management of Covid-19. The main aim of IGOT (Integrated Government Online Training) is to generate new workers as the existing workers are not enough for this fight against Covid-19.
This training is provided to doctors, para medical staff, hygiene workers, government employee, midwives and technicians. The training includes awareness, and precautions to be taken and how to handle the situations related to Covid -19 such as clinical management, ICU care and management, Quarantine and Isolation, Infection prevention through PPEs, Laboratory samples collection and testing, etc.
To achieve the training certificate for IGOT Covid-19 you have to register on www.igot.gov.in .
Aarogya setu app has been developed in order to create awareness of Covid-19 among the people. Following are some facilities provided by this app.
Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, has declared that the amount of 15,000 crore has released for build the health infrastructure in India. The Central Government has provisioned amount of 15,000 crore for treating the corona virus patients and Strengthening the medical infrastructure of the country.
This money is given to the state government and union territories in three phases which are from January 2020 to June 2020,from July 2020 to March 2021 and from April 2021 to March 2024.This fund would be divided on the basis of number of positive cases and size of the states and union territories. By using this fund the state government is allowed to build Hospitals, buy ventilators , medical kits, PPEs, Isolation beds, ICU beds and other health related things.
Among this fund of 15 thousand crore -
In order to provide financial support to the people during such epidemic situation the government has announced PMGKY that is Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. According to which government is providing Insurance cover for health professionals under PMGKY. So by this provision 50 lakh is given to each person.
This training is provided to doctors, para medical staff, hygiene workers, government employee, midwives and technicians. The training includes awareness, and precautions to be taken and how to handle the situations related to Covid -19 such as clinical management, ICU care and management, Quarantine and Isolation, Infection prevention through PPEs, Laboratory samples collection and testing, etc.

C) Aarogya Setu App :
Aarogya setu app has been developed in order to create awareness of Covid-19 among the people. Following are some facilities provided by this app.
- By downloading this app You can achieve all the information about the symptoms of Covid-19.
- By using your number, location and Bluetooth this app will provide you the distance between your location and any corona infected person's location in your surrounding.
- This app will also give you the perfect state wise rates of infected, discharged and dead persons in your country .
3. FINANCIAL PROVISION :
A) Distribution of money:

- the amount of Rs. 3750 crore has spent on essential items.
- and RS. 550 crore has spent on Testing labs and Kits.
